OBITUARY
DIED, Friday
morning June 1st, 1888, Elizabeth
Perisho, wife of Harvey
Perisho.
The deceased
was born near Hazel Green, Morgan County, Ky., Dec., 1819, moved to Edgar
Co. with her parents Jesse and Nancy Ogden, in October 1835, when she was
about fifteen years old, and was married to Harvey
Perisho, Oct. 25, 1838. They have lived companions for almost fifty
years, and have resided for forty-one years in their late residence.
This the first death that has occurred in this house. By this union
there was born unto them nine children, seven of whom are living and married,
two died in infancy.
Aunt Betty, as
she was familiarly known, received a stroke of paralysis last August, and
from that time she grew weaker, until Friday morning she answered the Master's
call, and passed over the River
of Life to join loved ones and await the coming of her loving and devoted
husband and other dear friends.
She was a woman
who was possessed of such strong character and noble qualities, that
she was regarded by her large circle of friends and relatives as being
angelic. Few who have passed beyond can have it said they left no
enemies behind. To know her was to love her. She had a
kind word and look for everyone. Will she be missed? Yes; not
only by her husband, children and grandchildren, but by a host of friends,
who deemed it a pleasure to visit Aunt Betty.
Elder Brooks
conducted the funeral services, assisted by Rev. E. B. Randle. The
remains were followed to Edgar cemetery by a large concourse of friends
and relatives.
Friend.
